Karen from the U.S. and Thao from Vietnam and Australia created Star Anise Foods from their love of Vietnamese food. Armed with pure ambition and Thao’s family’s pho and Vietnamese food recipes from the 1920s, these co-founders headed to the local street markets of Saigon to get inspired. Not only were they in search of replicating the authentic taste of traditional pho broth, they strived to innovate other traditional dishes.
